Inspiration

Along with all the snacks and sodas in the garage, I also had a couple of inspirational prints on the wall. This was one I printed from my computer. My carpenter told me it was one of his favorite quotes. Whether John Lennon really said it or not isn't certain, but it moves me. It is still there beneath the drywall and paint. Kinda a neat thing I never planned on, but if this house is ever torn down maybe it will be discovered again. A little secret-message-time-capsule from me.

Running Low on Storage

As our move-in date gets closer, the stuff that we bought for the new house (but cannot take there yet) is piling up and starting to take over in the house we're currently living in. It's making me cranky.

Granted this is peanuts to a hoarder. I had a family member with a slight tendency to "collect" and I was the person responsible for cleaning his collection up after he passed away.

With the help of absolutely AWESOME friends and family and two huge demo dumpsters, we unearthed the entire house and garage back to it's original, 1970s state. Ever since this experience....clutter makes me crazy!

Getting Ready For Next Week

Next week the roof is getting finished, wood garage doors installed,  floor tile starts, and the pool's plumbing finished. BIG WEEK!!!

**Side note: the weather here has been absolutely gorgeous!!!!**

My roofer, Yuri, came out (on a Saturday, soooo sweet!) so we could decide on a drip edge color. My choices were galvanized steel, dark brown, or white. I picked the brown. It can always be painted to match the house later. I liked the contrast and think it will look nice and tidy under the tile.

Waiting on finishing the cabinets that surround the refrigerator because we don't know exactly what height the fridge will be when it is on the saltillo tile.

Three separate guys that have been doing work on the house have wondered why my island is a different color than the wall cabinets. I didn't think it was that unusual, but apparently it is???? My painter even said, "wow, that's BRAVE!"  ????

Attaching some door handles and locks, checking the windows to make sure they are opening smoothly, and bought two more bathroom sinks.

This is the bathroom sink Thomas picked for his bathroom. ???? Not what I was expecting....I think it's sorta girlie, but he liked all the drawers. Apparently I underestimated the amount of beauty products Thomas requires.  :)

Stucco Complete

The outside stucco got sprayed with (very pink) primer and then the final layer of custom colored elastomeric/powerflex (stretchy colored stucco) went on. They did an excellent job and I couldn't be happier!!

The house was pink for 3 or 4 days. I bet my neighbors were wondering if it was the final color.

 I adore this crew! They were so great! I miss them.
